Celebrating industry champions at the BBPA Dinner
We were thrilled to attend the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) Annual Dinner and Fundraiser on Wednesday, 9 October 2024. It was a fantastic evening at the stunning 8 Northumberland Avenue in London, where the industry came together to celebrate the champions of the pub world.
A special highlight of the evening was seeing Mike Clist CBII receive the prestigious Industry Champion Award. Mike’s dedication to the pub industry is undeniable. From leading the Pub Governing Body Ltd and Best Bar None to offering his expertise on the BII helpline, he works tirelessly to support publicans every day. Beyond this, Mike serves as the Chair of Governors at the Licensed Trade Charity, a testament to his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those in the licensed trade.
As always, the BBPA Annual Dinner was not only a chance to recognise the outstanding contributions of individuals like Mike but also an important opportunity to raise funds for causes that support our industry. This year, we were raising money for two vital charities: Pub is The Hub (PITH) and the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC). Attendees participated in a lively auction and raffle, with fantastic prizes generously provided by the sponsors.
Hosted by Dave Berry, TV presenter and Absolute Radio Breakfast Show host, the event was filled with fun, competitive pub games, and plenty of laughter as guests mingled and celebrated the best of British beer and pubs.
It was fantastic to catch up with Emma McLarkin, CEO of the BBPA and one of our amazing new Ambassadors for The Pub Show.
